The physical and chemical processes that develop in the combustion zone of blast furnaces are dependent by many physical and metallurgical parameters, like: the blast air flow, the oxygen content in the blast air, the humidity, the pressure and the blast air flow temperature.
The mathematical model presented establishes correlations between the blow parameters mentioned before and a performance function that is selected to reflect graphically the development of the physical and chemical processes that take place in the combustion zone of the blast furnace in case of using various auxiliary combustibles. This performance function is the theoretical temperature from the oxidant zone.
The establishment of the model equations was made by starting from the functional real data of 1000m
3blast furnaces.

Influence ofdeformationscheme ondrawingprocess

As a result of the fact that most of the range of steel is obtained by plastic deformation, it’s important knowledge of the procesess, both theoretical and practical for obtaining high quality products.
Starting from the concept of obtaining superior mechanical properties on drawing, the work approaches a new way to determine the specific technological parameters, in constantly maintained conditions, under the limit value, of the necessary drawing force.

Maximisation ofconverteryield asmeltingfurnace
Metalurgia (55) 2003, nr.6, p.26
In this paper, a mathematical model and a computing algorithm are presented in order to establish the mainparameters
of converting process for copper matte, in order to ensure good process parameters.
In this way both matte characteristics and oxygen content in blown air could be established by computation.
Thuse, different types of converters could be utilised for copper concentrates melting or for by-products melting, without any possibility to affect the main process indicators.

In the paper, results of investigation related to the performance of electrical contacts for high-tension and high-power equipment, of Mo-Ni-Cu pseudo alloys, are presented.
The production of such contacts could be condidered, using powder metallurgy technics.

Superficiallayerhardening ofplanecams ofhighpower Dieselmotors
Metalurgia (55) 2003, nr.6, p.35
Superficial layer of the cams, which are used for valve setting at high power Diesel engines are hard over, bused during engines running. The shock appears when contact force between cam and follower is changing the value or the direction. The work proposal is to increase the mechanical properties of cams by hardening with high frequency the superficial layer. |
