Suggestions and solutions to be applied for improvement of economical efficiency on an integrated process-flow in the iron and steel industry are presented.

The specific example of SIDEX - Romania, during the years 1991 - 1997 is emphasized. Based on particular data, the influence of technical activity and product mix is analysed, and then transposed to an improved situation.
