Florentina Potecașu, Potecașu Octavian: The temperature influence on mechanical characteristics of materials hardened through deformation

Metalurgia International (vol. XI), no.8, 2006, p. 5

The paper presents the annealing influence of temperature on phenomena that take place whenheating at different temperatures, for aluminium samples hardened through dispersion with fine particles, hard, stable.

The powder necessary for research had a grain size smaller than 40 mm and it was obtained in lab on a pulverization installation with air-jet. The fine film dispersion of oxyde in the metallic matrix was obtained as an effect of extrusion with high degrees of the compressed products of superficially oxidated powder (from compressed with diameter of 20 mm to tests with diameter of 3 and respectively of 4 mm). For comparison reasons semi-products of cast aluminium were deformed under the same conditions.

The maintaining temperatures of thernal treatment ranged from 350-550oC. At heating the oxyde particles are stable and have a role of barrier against dislocations, therefore latening the interactions among dislocations and thus maintaining high mechanical resistances for the hardened aluminium matrix as compared to cast aluminium (without particles). The hardening effect through dispersion is as much higher as the deformation degree of tests from superficially oxidated powder increased, which determined o more pronounced finishing of the oxyde particles and a greater dispersion of the fine oxyde particles in aluminium matrix.

Vasile Lazar, Nistor Liviu: Compaction pressure, determinant factor in obtaining superior mechanical characteristics in the production of powder metals pieces

Metalurgia International (vol. XI), no.8, 2006, p. 9

The enlargement of engineering powder metal application field depends on the integrating possibility of sintered porous pieces in mechanical structures of resistance that operates in complex tension states and variable strains conditions. The acquaintance of influence for different parameters, which characterize metal powder, on mechanical properties   that   are   directly  connected  on tests  appliance on an object is the problem of heist importance in founding the optimal technological solution. The paper presents experiments on mechanical tests (tensile resistance, elongation, hardness) of plasticity and dimensions changes evolution, for two types of powder (Ancorsteel 2000 and Ancorsteel 4600 V) in able to make possible

their implementation in the fabrication of pieces constituting different equipments.

Ciobanu Ioan, Mașniță Mihai, Monescu Vlad: Analytical determination of the casting solidification time and solidification constant

Metalurgia International (vol. XI), no.8, 2006, p. 15

Starting from the Stephan – Swartz equation of the temperature field from the mould it is established an analytical relations for calculation of the solidification time and solidification constant of the castings dependent on the thermophysical characteristics of the alloy, of the mould and pouring conditions. It is verified the validity of this relations by comparison the results obtained with it, with those obtained by computer solidification simulation for a case of a plate poured from eutectic grey cast iron. It is analysed the pouring temperature influence over the solidification time and solidification constant determined by those two methods, and results interpretation.

Metalurgia International (vol. XI), no.8, 2006, p. 29

The present paper studies the influence of the microalloy on the characteristics of the some steel classes destined to the execution of the petroleum tubes.

Added to the realization of high report between the resistance characteristics and tenaciousness by using the fine granulation there can be obtained the rising of the capacity to weld of the steel, by reducing the content in carbon in order to realize the same level of resistance at breaking.

The torsion at hot temperature was used as trial for a reference steel and for the steel to be studied.

Batalu Dan, Georgeta Coșmeleață, Aloman Angel: Critical analysis of Al-Ni phase diagrams

Metalurgia International (vol. XI), no.8, 2006, p. 37

In the present paper the authors critically analyze some experimental and calculated phase diagrams, suggest a schema of the Al-Ni binary phase diagram (BPD) and establish its corresponding flow diagram.

The results are important for pointing out a reliable Al-Ni BPD and for indicating new directions of research for Al-Ni BPD, in order to clarify the related controversies. The results are also important for building and analysing ternary phase diagrams in which the Al-Ni BPD is part of.
