Ciobanu Ioan , Sofroni Laurentie, Speranța Stomff, Mașniță Mihai, Monescu Vlad, roșescu  Gheorghe: Establishment of the active layer thickness in the ecological moulds case realised from two layers

Metalurgia International (vol. XII), no.6, 2007, p. 5

In a previous paper it was analysed several ecological pouring procedures based on moulds made from sand without bond, bonded by depressurisation. At the ”Politehnica” University of Bucharest was experimented a pouring proceeding in combined moulds with active layer from loam with cold hardened resin and sand holder layer without bond, bonded by depressurisation. In this paper is presented the dimensioning mode (way) of the mould active layers thickness starting from the condition that after pouring of the casting the bond from the active layer is burned out completely, so it can be secured an easy knock - out of mould of it, and the sand could be recycled, it mustn’t be necessary regenerating operations.

SONTEA Sever, POPA Marin: Considerations regarding a protection system during the products control with ionizing radiations

Metalurgia International (vol. XII), no.6, 2007, p. 14

The following aspects are presented in this paper:

- the influence of the ionizing radiations on the human body and systems of protection;

- the organization of the non-destructive control in workshops and plants.

Key words: tolerances, chain of dimensions

Alupei-Cojocariu Ovidiu, Semenescu Augustin: Chains of Dimensions in computer aided design environment

Metalurgia International (vol. XII), no.6, 2007, p. 18

The paper presents some considerations about assigning tolerances and computing the dimensions chains using a CAD Program developed in AutoCADź with AutoLISPź. The presented methods to assign tolerances and solve the direct and the inverse problems of dimension chains are powerful design accessories that can increase the design cadence and provide the usual information needed without consulting specialized, classical printed documents. The assignation of tolerances is in total concordance with the used ISO standards and the results are verified through several moths of use.

MUREȘAN Mihaela: Fleet monitoring using GPS and DGPS Technology

Metalurgia International (vol. XII), no.6, 2007, p. 27

The   competitivity   is a real concern   of  the   organizations involved in the metallurgical area. The new B2B and B2C approaches involve a better control of the supply and delivery processes. Consequently, the implementation of the new information and communication technologies in the management of the supply and sales processes has a great importance in the enterprise strategy. The fleet monitoring using GPS technology represents

a guarantee for the safety of the transport and contributes to the increase of the efficiency of the transport activities for the actors involved in metallurgy. The implementation of a high technology solution based on GPS communication for the monitoring of transports along the whole itinerary (during supply or delivery activities), and the immediate alert in case of various non-procedural behavior, increases the transport security and reduces the risk of  accidents and disasters. The fleet monitoring using GPS and DGPS technologies contributes to a greater efficiency of the transport activities, by reducing the costs. The permanent monitoring of the fleet contributes to select the shortest way to the destination, to maintain a constant optimum speed of the vehicles, which involves a fuel reduced  consumption and a better exploitation of the vehicles.

The transport management system integrates detection and communication intelligent equipment, various communication technologies and networking solutions with powerful computers and software. The positioning, monitoring and protection system integrating GPS technology represents an innovative  solution for the fleet management for the enterprises.

The use of the GPS system opens the way for a new generation of information systems using geospatial information. The geoinformation provided by the GPS system could be used in various applications, such as: positioning and monitoring the behaviour of the objects static or in movement, navigating, measuring the surfaces etc. These new approach introduces the concept of image handling for decision support which involves a better  geoimage handling in order to make easier for decision makers to discover, access, and integrate geospatial information in decision-support scenarios.

Key words: electric furnaces, heat transfer, radiation, view factors

VIZUREANU Petrică, STRUL Moisa: The analysis of a numerical method for radiation heating transfer in electric furnaces

Metalurgia International (vol. XII), no.6, 2007, p. 34

We analyzed the possibilities of calculation by numerical methods the view factors values and so to improve the heat change by radiation, by optimizing the way to configure a charge in the working volume of the furnace. For regular geometric surfaces there are available in literature formulas to determine these factors, but for the irregular ones with various orientations it becomes almost impossible to establish these factors by analytical means. It requires the automating computing and numerical analysis methods.

MILOSAN Ioan: Aspects about the influence of the heat treatment’s parameters over the microhardness’s variation of a S.G. cast iron

Metalurgia International (vol. XII), no.6, 2007, p. 41

The paper presented here belongs to the researches about the influence of the heat treatment’s parameters over the microhardness’s variation of a S.G. Cast Iron at the end of an wear process. It was determinate the variation of the rapport (d) between the microhardness (D H) and the distance of the wear surface (Dl).
