In such conditions new definitions regarding the resources and recycling rates are suggested. The problem of harmful elements diminishing in different scrap trade marks, are also taken into account. laying on the basis of the computer program elaboration to simulate the solidification of casting. The model and the software can be used to simulate the solidification of parts cast in pure metals and eutectic alloys. There are presented the hypoteses and mathematical equations that represent the basis of the model. D.C.: 621.747 Keywords: mathematical model, solidification, simulation Sorin Ion Munteanu, Ioan Ciobanu, Aurel Crişan: Research on the solidification specific features of the profiles with U20´20 section Metalurgia (56) 2004, nr.12, p.25 The paper presents a 2D mathematical model, based on finite differences method and a software created by authors, to simulate the solidification of castings with translation symetry. There are presented the hypotheses that are on the basis of the model. There are presented too the conditions of application of the program to study the solidification of the profiles with U20x20 section, as well as the parameters that can be analysed using this program. D.C.: 621.787 Vasile Popescu, Nicolae Ghiban: Causes of metallic materials hardening Metalurgia (56) 2004, nr.12, p.37 A new hypothesis regarding the causes of the hardening of metallic materials through cold forming is presented. On the base of this hypothesis the authors sustain that hardening of the metallic materials through cold forming , is due to the decreasing of the free dislocations’ densities and to the reorientation of the crystallographic planes, to a single direction. The increase of the total density of the dislocations, proportioned with the degree of cold forming represents a factor of indirect influence, because with the increase of the total density diminishes the free dislocations weight and density.
