EAF operation
Metalurgia (56) 2004, nr.2 p.5
Increasing of economical and metallurgical performances of electric arc furnaces
(EAF) required esential modifications regarding the electrotechnological
regime of the furnace. Parameters of electrodes, like electrode diameter and
electrodes specific consumption are presented as very important for
electrometallurgical performances of the furnaces.

the Hot Plastic Deformation Capacity of the Cast Irons
Metalurgia (56) 2004, nr.2, p.9
The hot plastic deformation capacity of the cast irons is conditioned by
several factors that imply: the chemical composition, the graphite shape, the
deformation speed, the state of tension. Each of these factors can,
positively or negatively, influence the hot plastic deformation and, for this
reason, before of some cast iron marks we must deeply analyse the way this
can be influenced by the up mentioned factors.

Tănase, Marian Bordei, Aurel Ciurea: The thermal and magnetic Properties of the iron Nichel Alloys
Metalurgia (56) 2004, nr.2, p.14
The development in the domain of the measurement devices and
equipment is highly connected to the researches and discoveries from the
materials science, in the sense of obtaining new materials with high
characteristics. The researches and experiments are performed in this
respect, the special elasticity, magnetic or thermal
properties of the Fe-Ni alloys (with a high content of nickel) being
considered essential for the materials used in the construction of the
measurement equipment.

analysis and presentation of
strategic targets-components of restructuring
study
Metalurgia (56) 2004, nr.2, p.22
Paper is destinated to establish the required activities and measures in
order to restructure a Romanian iron and steel company, having the following
product mix in 2001:
·
crude steel: 376,000 tons;
·
finished rolled products: 212,000 tons;
·
billets for seamless tubes: 105,000 tons.
The restructuring strategy includes:
·
Industrial restructuring: investment volume,
product mix, market;
·
Financial restructuring: steps intended to be
performed for financial-economic recovery.
·
Social restructuring: labour force evolution, correlated to
industrial and financial restructuring.

Through the agency of these experimental researches made in this work it
has been had in wiew variation of the velocity in the elimination of lead, iron
and antimony from the molten bath depending on the length of the process and
on the remanent concentration. In this way it has been determined the
impurities repartitio coefficients of the equilibria between the metal and
slag concerning the Cu-Pb-O, Cu-Fe-O and Cu-Sb-O systems.

in Romanian Iron and steel industry
Metalurgia
(56) 2004, nr.2, p.34
Results of some prospective investigations on
domestic and international market of hot rolled long products are presented
in the paper. All the same time, steps to be adapted for relaunching
of this type of manufacturing in Romania are analysed.
