Dear Readers,

We are pleased to inform you that starting with 2003  we installed our own web-site (www.metalurgia.ro), in which both up-to-date information about our periodical, and representative books published by Romanian Metallurgical Foundation Scientifical Publishing House.

We inform you that both our Publishing House and periodicals Metalurgia (romanian language) and Metalurgia International (english language) are accepted as recommended publications for scientific research and development.

The acceptance is given by National Universitary Council for Science and Development, organization under the Ministry of Education and Research of Romanian, and has an official aspect.

Having an experience of longer than 55 years, our experts can help you to ensure the high quality of your scientific publications both in research and industrial development.

Marian Bordei, Aurel Ciurea, Dinel Tănase: Mathematical modeling of the continuous casting-process-the temperature distribution model

Metalurgia International (vol.IX), no.1, 2004, p. 10

The mathematical modeling of the continuous casting process is necessary because the very difficult conditions, such as: high temperature, high fluid steel quantities, …do not permit an adequate evaluation, directly on the installation. Thus, the simulation of the thermal process can be a good possibility of analysing and improving the working of the continuous casting machines.

Aurel Ciurea, Dinel Tănase, Marian Bordei: Researches regarding the hot plastic deformation of the flaked modified graphite cast iron

Metalurgia International (vol.IX), no.1, 2004, p. 16

Since 1932 at Aachen researches regarding the possibilities of hot plastic deformation of the cast iron are made. This domain is on great interest for scientists from all over the world. This paper present several aspects of the hot stamping of the modified flaked graphite cast iron.

Dinel Tănase, Marian Bordei, Aurel Ciurea: Experiments concerning the rolling technology of Fe-Ni alloys

Metalurgia International (vol.IX), no.1, 2004, p.

The growth of the users measurements an control devices and equipment, the development of automation in various industrial domains, the necessity of operating with more and more reduced tolerances in operating the modern technological process, implies a greater precision in the parameter measurements. The development in the domain of the measurement devices and equipment is highly connected to the researches and discoveries from the materials science, in the sense of obtaining new materials with high characteristics.

Maria-Cristiana Enescu, Marie-Rose Garda, Jean-Marc Saiter, Alexander Fainleb : Caractérisation des propriétés physiques de mélange des polymères utilisant diférents polyuréthanes

Metalurgia International (vol.IX), no.1, 2004, p. 25

Polymeric materials have a wide range of applicability in particular as biomaterials. In field, to improve the biocompatibility of polymeric materials, it is prime importance to have at first an overview of their physical properties. In this work, three series of polymeric blends have been studied by means of differential scanning calorimetry (DSC); thermo-gravimetric analysis (TGA); IR-spectroscopy (IR); dynamic mechanical analysis (DMA). The first series are blends of PU2000/PC, the second series of PU/CPL and the third series of PUF/CPL. For each series, we have performed the measurements for different compositions of the blends.

The results show that the first series PU1-x/PCx (with x =50, 85 and 95 W/W composition) is promising in regard with the thermal stability and polymer-polymer compatibility.
