marian Ionescu: Diminishing of gas
contents during steelmaking, by lf
process
Metalurgia (55) 2003, nr.11 p.5
The LF process presents both economical and quality
advantages. During this process, a powerfull desulphurizing process is taking
place, together with an advanced deoxidation. During the experiments, both
gas contents evolution and its effect on physical and mechanical properties
were investigated.

Wire from SWRH 82 B in Lead Bath
Metalurgia (55) 2003, nr.11, p.8
This paper presents the influence
of patenting of SWRH 82B steel proprieties before and after patenting in lead
bath. For a better understanding of this influence here are also presented
the structure of steel before and after patenting in lead bath.

The paper is structures into three distinct parts. The
first one includes some refferences regarding steelmaking process, the main
steelmaking routes being presented.
The second part describes some aspects regarding the
solidification during this process being presented.

V.Hotea, Gheorghe Iepure, Mariana Zsigmond: Modelling of Aluminium Vaporization Process in the
Electronic Flux Furnace
Metalurgia (55) 2003, nr.11, p.22
In order to obtain the titan-based alloys, the
electric-arc and the electronic-flux furnaces are used, throughout the world.
The obtaining of a certain composition of the titanium-aluminum-based alloys
using the electronic-flux furnace is a difficult problem because of the high
natural trend of aluminum to vaporize. This paper presents some

experimental
results and a method to model the loss of aluminum in the vaporization
process. This model allows the determination of the necessary composition of
the initial charge in order to obtain the desired composition of the final
titanium-aluminum alloy.

Metalurgia (55) 2003, nr.11, p.27
Evolutions in railway development require optimisation
and improvement of all parameters characterising railway vehicles, taking
into account safety and transport costs conditions.
Improving of knowledge about operation mode and
characteristics of components take place during the cooperation among
producers and customers. At the same time are taken into account the
optimisation conditions of operation itself.
During operation, contact loads between rai land wheel,
at temperatures between -350C and + 12000C, explained
by friction phenomena, are developed.
The paper present a new and interesting solution of
operation life prolongation of wheel rims and engine wheels, during the
cooperation between producer (SMR Bals-Romania) and an yugoslavian customer.

Metalurgia (55)
2003, nr.11, p.32
Because superplastic behaviour is
dependent on grain size, alloy selection and processing for grain refinement
and for restriction of grain growth during deformation at elevated
temperatures are central objectives to the study of the phenomenon of superplasticity and to the development of new types of superplastic materials. In this paper, processing for
grain refinement and grain growth control are reviewed.

Starting from the idea that material is the one that pictures itself to the human perception, in the present article it is presented a study showing its influence on the aesthetical appearance of the industrial products. The aesthetic evaluation of a product is the result of the human creation and needs to be performed by an individual who is an expert in the field.
